The image from today’s post comes from a visit I had a few years ago to the Venice bird rookery, in Venice, Florida. As you can see, many birds call this rookery home, overnight:
Many different species in this single image … primarily, White Ibis are present, but you can also see Great Blue Herons, a Tri-colored Heron, Glossy Ibis, Great Egrets, and a few unrecognizable species in the dark shadows.

- Canon 100-400mm f/4.5 – f/5.6 IS lens, at 100 mm
- Handheld, with IS “On” + flash used
- ISO 500
