Uh, oh … here comes trouble!
Spring bear cubs are always a joy to watch! With so much energy, they seem to stop playing only to eat or sleep! This trio of spring brown bear cubs was photographed at the Hallo Bay Bear Camp in Alaska, a few years ago. Where’s mom? Well she is ahead of the kids, out of the frame. The youngsters had to stop to play for a moment, then worked at catching back up to mom. Although triplet cubs are not real common, they are a real treat when you find them. What is rare, however, is for all 3 to survive their first year. Predation by wolves, or even male bears is quite common.
