Brrrrrrrrr … after thinking spring was here, we got hit hard the last couple of days, with cold weather, rain, sleet and even some snow! I’ve been longing for some prairie photography … wildflowers, dragonflies, butterflies. But I guess I’ll have to wait just a bit longer! But to help me remember what the prairie will soon bring, I’m re-posting a post I made at a local, natural prairie that I discovered in 2010. Enjoy!
About 3 weeks ago, I began posting on a new prairie meadow that I had discovered near my home. Since that first time, I have been back there several times, last night being my latest trip. Every time I go, there is something new! One of the many new wildflowers in bloom last night was the Pale Purple Coneflower (Echinacea pallida), shown here with a Fritillary Butterfly:
