Yesterday, I posted some images from the Lower Terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs (Yellowstone NP). Today’s post includes some other vantage points of this interesting area of the park. The thing that caught my eye in these images was the story that can be read from them … the story of how flora often grow in these areas. That is, until their roots contact the exceedingly hot temperatures of the thermal pools, causing the plants to die:
