Not Quite a “Monkey on the Back”

Today’s post features an image captured during my recent winter trip to Teton NP (Wyoming). While photographing elk that winter here, we came upon a group of Bighorn Sheep who were busy grazing and slow traveling along the ridge of a mountain range:

Did you notice the strange-looking sheep on the right?  A closer look gives us a clearer picture of the reality of the moment:

… a hitchhiking Magpie goes along for the ride!

  • Canon 7D Mark 2 camera
  • Canon 100-400mm f/4.5 – f/5.6 IS lens
  • Handheld, with IS “On”
  • ISO 250
  • Aperture f/5.6
  • Shutter 1/320 sec.
