Prothonotary Warbler

Just a few mornings ago, I was in the kayak checking out/photographing the area wildlife. As I was parked near one of the many small islands, I was photographing a Ribbon Snake (I’ll post those images later) with a frog. As I was photographing it, a male Prothonotary Warbler (Protonotaria citrea) flew into the same sapling as the snake, just 3 feet above it! The warbler had spotted a green caterpillar in the tree and flew in to grab a quick meal. This was a real treat … I was only about 15 feet away from the warbler! Here are a few images I made:
