The Blues

After the recent adventures with the wild horses of South Dakota, we decided to drive to Custer State Park before driving home. This was a new shooting location for me, so I wasn’t sure what we would find.

One of the many photo opps we encountered was a pair of nesting Mountain Bluebirds (Sialia currucoides). It was obvious that this pair has some young birds in the nestbox … both the male and female were busy hunting insects and bringing them back to the nestbox. Here are a few images captured of the Mountain Bluebirds:
