This past week, I stepped out for a week of photographing the Madison County (Iowa) covered bridges in the peak of fall colors. What a wonderful week it was, shooting sunrises and covered bridges surrounded by fall colors, and spending the late nights photographing the stars and Milky Way over the bridges! Had a wonderful time and the weather was totally cooperative. I have downloaded my images and will be featuring some of them over the next week!
Today’s post, however, features some last-minute migrating Monarch butterflies that I captured in my rural Missouri butterfly garden just before my covered bridge trip. With the temperatures falling drastically, I don’t expect to see any more Monarch in 2017 … but will be looking forward to more in 2018! Here are some of my favorite last-minute visitors to my garden:
