Trumpeter Swans, Part 2

Today, my blog picks back up with the Trumpeter Swans (Cygnus buccinator) that I photographed at Squaw Creek NWR, in northwest Missouri, last week. In my last swan post (Trumpeter Swans, Part 1) I posted photos of trumpeter swan families as they rested and fed on the refuge waters. Today’s post includes some flight shots that I was able to make. Unfortunately, the sky was a dismal white, cloud-covered sky, not the nice blue sky I like when photographing in-flight birds. Even so, the thrill of watching and photographing these beauties as they flew by me was worth the effort! I hope you enjoy these images:
