Vertical Climb

Oops! Meant to publish this post prior to moving to the Badlands NP posts, but overlooked it.

It is always such a treat to watch one of our hoofed mammals make a steep, vertical climb along the cliffs and canyon … and seemingly with no effort. As I walked Waterton Canyon one morning, this single ram was working his way around the canyon. While I watched, he turned and began a near-vertical, climb up the rock wall of the canyon. Here are a few images of the sequence I captured:
