… for wild and new flowers!
About a week ago, I stopped by a nearby home improvement center (yeh, big mistake!) to price out the cost of some lumber to build a new arbor at the entrance to my rural Missouri home. Last year, I dug and planted a new butterfly garden on one side of the walkway, and so far this year I’ve dug a new hummingbird garden, on the other side of the walkway (still need to till this area … hopefully I can get this done before winter hits!). The copper arbor that now sits at the entrance is just not holding up very well and I’ve decided to build a new, wooden arbor that will handle more weight. When complete, it will hold several climbing vines and will be a great place to house my birdfeeders, and will be out of the reach of nuisance squirrels! Well, I made my usual mistake of checking out the garden center while I was there. I ended up purchasing a couple of very colorful and unusual mums:
I’m planning on using these as a focal point to the entrance walkway. I think they will fit in nicely!
