Looking out my window this morning, I saw a whole lot of Red-winged Blackbirds and Common Grackles mobbing the feeders on the front porch. That reminded me that I had a new life bird from Florida’s Green Cay that I hadn’t featured yet, so I pulled up my images and am featuring them today. These are female Boat-tailed Grackles (Quiscalus major). While walking the boardwalk, I came upon a boatload (sorry for the pun!) of these birds, all hanging around the boardwalk. I was able to capture one of the birds at pretty close range:
The funny thing is that I saw this mob of grackles on the first day at Green Cay, but on my second day, they were not to be found!
