Today’s post comes from one of my two trips to Baja, Mexico and the amazing Sea of Cortez, a few years ago. While cruising the Sea of Cortez and watching for whales and other marine life, we ran into a group of Manta Rays a couple of times. These magnificent creatures would glide by our boat with such ease and grace … a beauty I will never forget!
Here are a few of my favorite images of the rays, captured as they glided just below the water’s surface:

- Handheld, with IS “On”
- ISO 200 and ISO 400
- Aperture f/11 and f/16
- Shutter Speed 1/80 sec. to 1/400 sec.
