Wonderful Chestnuts

Today’s post features a trio of images I captured a few years ago when I visited Magee Marsh, a favorite warbler stop on the south bank of Lake Erie, in northern Ohio. During spring migration, Magee Marsh comes alive with warblers heading north to Canada. At Magee Marsh, the warblers feed and rest while awaiting a good southerly wind to help them fly across the lake.

One of my “lifer” warblers I was able to photograph was the Chestnut-sided Warbler, and I was able to catch up to a few of them during my visit. Here are 3 previously unpublished images of the colorful Chestnut-sided Warbler:

  • Handheld, with IS “On”
  • ISO 500
  • Aperture f/5.6
  • Shutter 1/400 sec. and 1/320 sec.
