During my weekend short-eared owl photo trip, I also photographed a lot of Northern Harriers (Circus cyaneus) that were active over the prairie. I always enjoy watching the harriers, flying low and often hovering over the tall grasses, in search of mice and other small animals. Today’s post includes some close-up images I was able to make from the Visitor’s Center parking lot, using my car as a photo blind:
