After a hectic week of activity, including back-to-back art festivals, teaching photography classes at the Cass Career Center, and a bout with the flu, I am finally feeling back to “normal”. Today’s post features a couple of macro images I made during my summer trip to Montana/Wyoming/Colorado. While driving the backroads of Montana’s Bitterroot Wilderness, photographing wildflowers along the mountainside, this Robber Fly (Tolmerus spp.) flew to the ground where I was photographing a flower. In his grasp was an unidentified species of wasp:
The Robber Fly is an interesting creature, as most insects are, especially when photographed through a macro lens!
