Back in September, I traveled to Minnesota’s North Shore to photograph the fall colors. Along the shores of Lake Superior, Tettegouche State Park lies. The Baptism River runs through the park, making it’s way down to the lake. And on the Baptism River lies Illgen Falls. Here are a few images of the Baptism River, just before it reaches Illgen Falls (note the lone red maple in beautiful fall colors, in the background):
Immediately downstream of the last image, is the falls. Here is a shot I made while standing at the top of the falls:

- Canon 1D Mark 3 body
- Canon EF 28mm-135mm, f/3.5 – f/5.6 IS lens (IS turned “off”)
- Bogen 3221 tripod, with Kirk Ent. HD ballhead
- 3-stop Neutral Density filter used to slow down shutter speed
- ISO 200
- Aperture f/22
- Shutter Speed 0.2 to 1.0 second
