Another interesting wildflower that is prevalent around the Shaw Nature Reserve (near St. Louis, MO) is the Shooting Star (Dodecatheon meadia). I’ve seen a few of these on some of our west-central Missouri prairies, but not a dominant flower around our home. But the Shaw Nature Reserve had plenty of these lovelies, in both white and pink.
