While editing some of my images the other day, I found this interesting one, in which I’ve titled “Headache!” This is a Belted Kingfisher (Ceryle alcyon) with a nice-sized sun perch. One of the interesting behaviors of the Belted Kingfisher is it’s repeated banging of it’s prey against a limb before it is swallowed. In this instance, the poor fish got a solid slap on his nose … a solid warning of what was to come!
