Goats at the Summit

Today’s post features some of the fun wildlife of Mount Evans, the Mountain Goats (Oreamnos americanus). Often when visiting the summit of Mount Evans, there will be a group of mountain goats wandering around, playing or getting their salt intake from the rocks and gravel. During this day’s drive to the summit, there was a nice group of goats and I captured these favorite images of the adult goats:

I will be featuring the goats in some additional posts coming up, including baby goats and images captured while the herds were grazing in wildflowers along the slopes of Mount Evans. And tomorrow’s “Fun Friday” post should be a very interesting post of an extreme encounter with some of the goats … you won’t want to miss it!
