How’s the Weather Up There?

Today’s post features another image from one of my Alaska trips (2006). During one of our Alaska, small boat cruises, we were with brown bears at Windfall Harbor. As we pulled our boat into the harbor area, this adult brown bear stood up to check out his competition ahead, at the creek where salmon were running:

You might also notice the lone bald eagle (bottom of photo), busy eating a fish carcass, with several gulls waiting to scavenge any leftovers.

 

Photographic Equipment Used:

  • Canon 1D Mark 2 body
  • Canon 100-400, f/4.5 – f/5.6 IS lens
  • Handheld (on boat), with IS “On”
  • ISO 200
  • Aperture f/8
  • Shutter Speed 1/320 sec.
