Today’s post features a Yellow-crowned Night Heron, patiently waiting for breakfast to show up. These images were captured in Ding Darling NWR (SW Florida) this past February:
Typically, I’ve found these birds to be a bit difficult approaching. But this bird was pretty tame … and probably pretty hungry, as he sat motionless for quite some time. He was captured along one of the roadside water “ditches”, a short time after sunrise.
