Today’s post features some of the wintering Bald Eagle images I captured over 4 days this past January, near the Quad Cities (eastern Iowa/western Illinois). I have just made plans to conduct a small group, 3-day photo workshop with the Quad Cities wintering eagles in January 2016. We even had a single, American White Pelican fishing among the eagles:
Bald Eagles are one of my favorite subjects to photograph and I’m looking forward to another great visit to this area!
Photographic Equipment Used:
- Canon 7D body and Canon 5D Mark III body
- Canon 100-400mm, f/4.5 – f/5.6 IS lens
- Handheld, with IS “On”
- ISO variable, depending on lighting, but typically ISO 400 to ISO 3200
- Aperture variable, but typically f/5.6 to f/8
- Shutter variable, depending on lighting and action
