American Wigeons

In my last kayak outing, I was pleased to see some American Wigeon (Anas americana) ducks show up, albeit just a handful. These beautiful ducks are pretty common in our area during migration, but don’t hang around very long. Here are a couple images of the drake that landed near the kayak and swam about for a few minutes:
